Parker 150mm Precision Linear Servo Motor Actuated Stage w/ ViX Drive/Controller. Precision, low profile (25mm) linear servo driven stage made by Parker Hannifin. This is model MX80L and has a built-in brushless DC linear servo motor with 150 mm (6 inches) of travel.

The precision grade stage provides 5 um accuracy and 0.4 um repeatability. This listing includes a pre-configured Parker ViX250-IH drive/controller. Each complete system is tested here and guaranteed to arrive in good working condition.

These are easy to reconfigure and program with Parker's Easi-V software. Note that Easi-V will not run on 64 bit Windows.

We test here using a Windows XP virtual machine with the free VirtualBox VM software. All you need to get this going is a 24V power supply, and optionally, a 48V power supply to get maximum performance from the motor.

This uses a Renishaw RE2000E06A 2000X interpolator that gives an amazing 10 nm (0.01 um) resolution. Note that this super high resolution limits the velocity to 30 mm/s. The stage is capable of velocities up to 2000 mm/s and acceleration up to 4G when used with a 1.0 or 5.0 um interpolator. The full Parker model number for this configuration is MX80L-T04 M P D13 H3 CM04 Z3 E0 R1 A25 S1 (I've spaces added to make it easier to look up the various options). Precision ground zero cage creep crossed roller bearing sets provide extremely smooth - precise linear translation. Travel limit and home sensors are conveniently designed into the unit for easy adjustment over the entire travel of the stage. Although there are no moving cables, 1 or 3 meters of hi-flex cabling depending on configuration option is included and wired directly into the units. This hi-flex cabling addresses cable flexing concerns associated with the second or third axis in multi-axis system. Junktronix is now Starlight Photonics.
